Initially I trained as a graphic designer and illustrator, and for several years I ran my own design consultancy. When I found myself editing other people’s copy, I decided it was time to follow my passion – words, literature and books – and returned to university as a mature student. Ten years later I emerged with a degree, an MA and a PhD in English Literature. I have been working as a freelance editor and proofreader since 2004. The book of my thesis, Mary Blachford Tighe: The Irish Psyche, was published in 2011 by Cambridge Scholars Publishing.
